Understanding Workspaces
From Projectivity Documentation
Projectivity is a client-server web application that allows its users to cooperate by the means of virtual work environments called Workspaces.
A user can access Projectivity through a browser, e.g. Internet Explorer, over the network.

When a user logs in Projectivity he/she can access the workspaces he/she was assigned to.
Each workspace represents an organization unit that groups related information including documentation.
A workspace can represent any meaningful entity in your organization (for instance a department, a customer, a project, an activity and any other relevant entity). These entities can be defined by one ore more framework according to your company needs (for more information on frameworks, please refer to Whatis_Framework)
Workspaces are organized hierarchically in a tree like structure. The following figure shows an example hierarchy.

You can think about a workspace as the virtual place that groups a set of related information. In the example structure, resources access the Jet Propelled Roller Skates product to find all the information about it. By sharing information (both in the form of structured data and documents) resources can effectively cooperate regardless of their location.
The following Figure shows the Workspace window.

The left side panel allows the user to browse the workspaces structure. The user clicks on a workspace to select it.
When a workspace is selected, the main panel of the window updates allowing the user to access it.
Each workspace has a set of attributes that are defined by its framework type. These attributes represent the relevant structured information. The user can show or edit this information according to his access level.

The user can also show and edit (according to his access level) the resources that are assigned to the workspace.

To access the workspace related documentation and cooperation tools, the user selects the corresponding entry of the Tools menu (Document Explorer and View Tools)
