Structural Workspaces
From Projectivity Documentation
As previously highlighted in Understanding_Workspaces workspaces are grouped hierarchically in a tree like structure.
Some workspaces represent work units like projects or activities, some others are used to model the company organizational structure. The formers are called Project Workspaces and the latter are called Structural Workspaces.
In the following example workspace hierarchy, Acme organization was modelled in a set of Products, Customers and in a Knowledge Base structure. We can also notice a project under the Product Jet Propelled Roller Skates.

The company resources whose active cooperation is required, are assigned to some of these workspaces, with an access level allowing them to perform their work.
Summarizing, Structural Workspaces are used to model the organizational structure according to the defined framework. If the framework used defines a functional organization model (as in the example) this model is then enforced in the resulting workspace structure.
