Projectivity allows easily searching of documents thanks to its powerful search engine.

When a document is uploaded in Projectivity, the system analyses:

  • the name
  • the keywords (that the user can specify during the upload operation)
  • the content

This information is used to update the Documents Index that further allows quick and effective search.

NOTE that each user can search only in the documents he/she is allowed to access to.

The following figures shows a search results.

Searching a document

As you can notice in the figure, the documents matching the search criteria are listed. Each match in the list shows the document name and the workspace it belongs.

The user can choose to download it or to jump to the corresponding workspace.

Projectivity supports the following file formats:

  • Plain text
  • HTML, XHTML
  • XML
  • PDF (Portable Document Format)
  • RTF (Rich Text Format)
  • Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, Publisher
  • Microsoft new OpenXml Office formats
  • Microsoft Works
  • OpenOffice 1.x: Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw
  • StarOffice 6.x - 7.x+: Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw
  • OpenDocument (OpenOffice 2.x, StarOffice 8.x)
  • Corel WordPerfect, Quattro, Presentations
  • Emails (.eml files)
  • ical files
